TAMILNADU TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (TNTET) – 2022 NOTIFICATION

 

1. Introduction to Notification.

Applications are invited only through online mode for Teacher Eligibility Test, Paper - I and Paper - II for the year 2022 from the eligible candidates in Tamil Nadu.

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE Act), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has vide Notifications dated 23rd August 2010, 29th July 2011 and 28th June 2018 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he / she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the guidelines framed by the NCTE.

Teachers Recruitment Board has been designated as the Nodal Agency for conducting Teacher Eligibility Test as per G.O.Ms.No.181, School Education (C2) Department, dated: 15.11.2011.

3. Eligibility to Write TNTET (As per G.O. (Ms) No.70, School Education (MS) department dated 12.04.2018, G.O. (Ms) No. 12, School Education (EE1(1)) department dated 30.01.2020 and G.O. (Ms) No. 13, School Education (S.E.3(1)) department dated 30.01.2020).

3.   (a) Minimum Educational Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V).

 

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by

whatever name known).

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and

Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or

appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).


Or

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in

Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,).

 

Note:-

v  The candidates who have passed D.T.Ed., /D.El.Ed., from States other than Tamil Nadu should submit evaluation certificate for such qualifications.

v  Training to be undergone:

·         A person who has acquired the qualification of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,), from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V, provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within 2 years of such appointment as primary teacher. (As per NCTE notification dated 28.06.2018).

·         A person with Diploma in Ed., (Special Education) or B.Ed., (Special Education) qualification shall undergo, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6 months special programme in Elementary Education;

·         In case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed., (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered. (as per para 2 NCTE notification dated 23.08.2010).

v  Reservation Policy:

Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories such as BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A), ST and Persons with Disability Candidates.


3(b) Minimum Educational Qualifications to write TNTET Paper- II (for classes VI-VIII).(Graduate teacher (Related subjects, Tamil, English and other than Tamil and English languages))

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in

Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of

Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

Or

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year

of Bachelor in      Education   (B.Ed.),      in      accordance with  the    NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or

appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and

passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.

Or

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of

B.Ed. (Special Education).

Or

Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TNTET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also

qualified to appear in the TNTET.


Note:-

·         The candidates not having the prescribed qualifications shall not be eligible for appearing TNTET.

·         A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification amended from time to time shall be eligible for appearing in the TNTET.

·         The candidates should satisfy their eligibility before applying. They should be personally responsible in case they are not eligible to apply as per the eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that, if a candidate has been allowed to appear for TNTET, it does not imply that the eligibility of the candidate has been verified. It does not vest any right to appointment of the candidate after passing the examination.

·         Reservation Policy:

3(c) Age Limit:-

The candidates must be minimum of 18 years old. There is no upper age limit.

Note:-

a.        Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 11 years.

b.        Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl.No.(ii) above in Paper-I table. For recruitment process candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.

c.        Language II English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

d.        Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

e.       The questions in the TNTET Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be up to the Secondary Stage.

Note:-

5. Procedure to Apply:

a)    Candidates should apply only through online mode in the TRB website http://www.trb.tn.nic.in

b)    Use separate application for Paper-I and Paper-II.

c)     Candidates should ensure that they have their scanned recent colour passport size photograph (JPG/JPEG /PNG format of size 20-60 KB) and signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG format of size 10-30 KB) separately.

The   online   application should be uploaded with the photograph and signature of the candidate with complete information.

d)    A valid e-mail id and Mobile Number are mandatory for registration and e-mail    id    should    be    kept    active    till    the    declaration    of    results


e)    All the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the candidate, paper applied, communal category, date of birth, address and all other fields will be considered as final. Candidates are requested to fill the online application form with utmost care and caution as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained. Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected.

f)      The online application can be submitted up to 13.04.2022 till 05.00 p.m. after which the link gets disabled.

g)    Candidates are only fully responsible for all the details and documents submitted along with the application. Candidates have to go through all the instruction carefully and carefully fill up details and upload document.

h)    The online application without candidate’s photograph and signature and incomplete information will be rejected.

i)       No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances.

6. Examination Fee:

i.            The Examination fee is Rs. 500/- for all the candidates except SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability. For SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability Candidates, the examination fee is Rs. 250/-. Since the examination fee is different for various categories, candidates are advised to enter the correct Community / Person with Disability category. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.

ii.             Online payment to be made only through Payment Gateway. (Net banking/Credit Card / Debit Card)

iii.             Offline mode of payment in any form such as Demand Draft / Postal order, etc. will not be accepted.

iv.             The candidates, who want to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II, should pay separately for both.

7. Written Examination:

The date, time and center for the Written Examination will be indicated in the Hall Ticket. The Hall Tickets for the eligible candidates will be uploaded by the TRB in its official website. The candidates are advised to refer    the    TRB website   for    details (http://www.trb.tn.nic.in).   No  written   communication will be sent to the candidate.

The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board on the eligibility of the candidate to appear for the examination will be final.

 

8. Scribes :

Visually Impaired candidates/eligible Orthopedically Impaired candidates will be allowed assistance of scribes based on the Disability Certificate /Medical Certificate submitted by the candidates.

9. Examination Results :

The Roll-Number-wise Mark List of all candidates will be published in the website   of    Teachers    Recruitment    Board    viz.    http://www.trb.tn.nic.in A press release will be issued in this connection through print or visual media.

10. Centre for Examination:

Examination will be held in all districts. Candidates should appear for the Examination at their own expenses. The Board reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of examination centres and to re-allot the candidates for administrative reasons. Examination centre will be informed in the hall ticket.

11. General Information:

a)    Candidates who have secured 60% and above in the TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Examination will be issued with TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Pass Certificate. However relaxation of 5% marks will be given to BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A), ST and Person with Disability Candidates.


b)   TET Certificate will be valid for Life Time as per G.O (Ms) No.128, School Education (TRB) Department Dated 23.08.2021.

c)     Mere  holding   of  a  TET   certificate  does  not  confer  any  right   to appointment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

d)    As per G.O.(Ms)No.149, School Education (TRB) Department dated 20.07.2018, TET qualified candidates have to appear for a separate competitive examination related to recruitment.

12. Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct :

Candidates are warned that they should not furnish the particulars that are false or suppress any material information while filling in the application form. Candidates are also warned that they should in no case attempt to alter or otherwise tamper with any entry in a document or submit details based on tampered/ fabricated document. If there is any inaccuracy or any discrepancy, in the application form, it will not be considered.

Without prejudice to criminal action/ debarment from writing TRB's examination wherever necessary, candidature will be summarily cancelled at any stage of the recruitment in respect of candidates found to have indulged in any of the following:

(a)             In possession of mobile phone & accessories, Bluetooth devices and other electronic gadgets within the premises of the Examination Centres, whether in use or in switched off mode and in person or otherwise.

(b)            Involved in malpractices.

(c)             Using unfair means in the examination hall.

(d)            Obtaining support for his/ her candidature by any means.

(e)             Impersonate/procuring impersonation by any person.

(f)               Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with.


(g)            Making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material information.

(h)            Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his/ her candidature for the examination.

(i)               Misbehaving in any manner in the examination hall with the Supervisor, Invigilator or TRB's representatives.

(j)               Intimidating or causing bodily harm to the staff employed by the TRB for the conduct of examination.

(k)             Candidature can also be cancelled at any stage of the examination for any other ground which the TRB considers to be sufficient cause for cancellation of candidature.
