12th Public Exam Time Table 2024

The 12th public exam in Tamil Nadu is known as the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examination. It is conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu. The exam is held in March-April every year.

Eligibility:

Candidates who have passed the 10th standard examination from a recognized board are eligible to appear for the HSC Examination.

Candidates should have attained the age of 16 years or above on the date of the first examination.

Registration:

Registration for the HSC Examination is usually done in November-December of the previous year.

Candidates can register online or through designated schools and colleges.

Exam Pattern:

The HSC Examination is a public examination conducted in two parts: Part I and Part II.

Part I consists of four subjects: Tamil, English, Maths, and Second Language.

Part II consists of three elective subjects chosen from a list of 24 subjects.

Each subject carries a maximum of 100 marks.

Marking Scheme:

The marking scheme for the HSC Examination is based on the following criteria:

Theory subjects: 70% for theory and 30% for practical

Practical subjects: 30% for theory and 70% for practical

Results:

The results of the HSC Examination are usually declared in May-June of the year of the examination.

Candidates can check their results online or through designated schools and colleges.
